Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)

The City of Cadillac (the "City") adopts the public policy set forth in the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, 1976 PA 442 ("FOIA"), that all persons, except those persons incarcerated in state, county or federal correctional facilities, are entitled to full and complete information regarding the affairs of government and the official acts of those who represent them as public officials and public employees, consistent with the FOIA. Access to information is important so that people may fully participate in the democratic process.

The City has rewritten its FOIA Policy & Procedures, as required by PA 563 of 2014 that amends PA 442 of 1976 (FOIA), to provide for Procedures & Guidelines, a Written Public Summary and a Detailed Itemization Sheet as of July 1, 2015.
